About Kathryn Everest

Kathryn Everest was a trailblazer in the field of school counseling whose career left a lasting impact on students, counselors, and the profession as a whole. Known for her passionate advocacy, Kathryn worked tirelessly to elevate the role of school counselors in Texas and beyond. She believed deeply in the power of comprehensive school counseling programs to transform student lives and was committed to ensuring that counselors had the support and recognition they deserved.

The Kathryn Everest Advocacy Award was established to honor her legacy by recognizing individuals who demonstrate the same level of dedication, leadership, and advocacy for the profession. Each year, this award serves as a reminder of Kathryn’s vision and her unwavering belief in the importance of advocacy at every level.

Kathryn Everest served as the Director of Guidance and Counseling for Fort Worth ISD. She was widely recognized across Texas and nationally for her leadership, advocacy, and dedication to advancing the school counseling profession.
